Product Information Specialist

Keep team on track and maintain best practices pertaining to product; Support product content creation/asset campaigns and reviews; Support US marketing and management groups in the definition, production, and distribution of still and motion assets produced from engineering math data and photo shoots; Review reference materials for product correctness as subject matter experts (SME); Be the product information liaison during all stages of creative development among all MRM team members and Agency departments/partners.

Accountabilities:

  • Support all aspects of the business relating to digital applications
    • Verify/Approve product accuracy of assets (vehicles, logos, icons, etc.) as both a stand-alone image and/or in conjunction with written copy
    • Verify/Approve all written copy relevant to products and/or services
    • Assist the Digital Creative Team to develop/verify proper claim copy, secure associated substantiation for claims and develop/secure Vehicle Engineering Affidavits from Product Managers/Marketing Managers/Engineers
    • Update the Agency claims database with new entries

  • Utilize approved resources to verify assets and copy are correctresearch product information in approved resources (digital and print format), digest and interpret information, effectively communicate information to team members in an understandable format (all approved resources will be provided)

  • Input metadata in asset databaseensure all the vehicle assets are labeled with important and appropriate vehicle/product/feature information

  • Support internal requests for specific asset selection and associated pricing - assist in the selection of specific vehicle assets associated with special incentives and price the vehicle shown accordingly

  • Assist Creative Development Team on creative conceptsattend meetings where Creative Briefs are initially shared with the team and offer any Product Information related insight that contributes to the overall creative concept

  • Interact with Product Specialists Interact with the Product Specialist Teams within the Agencies of Record (AOR) on vehicles with shared platforms concerning information about changes to vehicle features, claims, capabilities, etc.

  • The Product Information Specialist interacts daily with MRM Legal Department on all aspects of product information – assets, copy, claims, etc.; example: Legal may ask if image matches copy – PI must prove it
  • Microsoft Teams/Online Meetings and training are done virtually at this time

Requirements:

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • University degree (ideally in Marketing / Advertising / Business Studies) or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 8 years of automotive advertising/marketing product information experience:
    • Automotive product experience
      • Basic automotive product knowledge
      • Ability to define standards and options on vehicles, vehicle builds for specific trim levels from manufacturing and engineering data and translate into Marketing copy
      • Ability to recognize international markets needs and requirements for product correct imagery
  • Strong understanding of MS Office, specifically strong working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint on both Mac and PC
  • Familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Basic understanding of computer-generated imagery (CGI)
  • Familiarity with the processes used to develop consumer emails, direct mail, DVPOD (Digital Variable Print On-Demand), product catalogs and brochures including layouts, photo shoots, digital media, product claims and image reviews for product correctness
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work under pressure with deadlines

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work occasional longer hours
  • Ability to view computer screens for longer periods of time
