Summary

Seeking an innovative and customer-focused GNSS Product Manager, to fill an opportunity within the Topcon global Product Management team. The portfolio of the Product Manager will include hardware components and solutions for GNSS receivers within the Surveying, Construction, Network and Monitoring markets. The Product Manager will report to the Sr. Product Manager of GNSS, in which they will aid in the development of customer offerings, including components and services offered by Topcon resellers.
Responsibilities
  • Gather, define and prioritize market, customer, and internal feedback and requirements for new products and features associated with Topcon GNSS receivers, communication technology, related software/services, and their accessories. Proactively research and communicate new potential product improvements for the product(s), including the preparation of objective analysis of potential market opportunities and business cases supporting future product enhancements.
  • This critical position works in conjunction with Engineering to define technical requirements and scope of new products.
  • Responsible for leading the life cycle of Topcon GNSS related products, from product conception to withdrawal from the market, by working with cross functional teams to ensure that the products’ contribution to our markets are maximized through appropriate market positioning and achievement of revenue, profitability and growth targets.
  • Actively manage existing products with the Topcon portfolio including initial positioning, strategic planning, product redesign(s) and phase out of products. Working closely with Engineering and Operations in the development and sustaining of products.
  • Market/Industry Trends and included technical competitive research.
  • Identify an analyze features and workflows available within GNSS competitor products and prepare briefs for Product Management, Marketing and Business Unit Sales teams.
  • Participate in industry trade association events, technical working groups, seminars, etc.
  • Work with Topcon’s Professional Services, GNSS Validation and Beta teams to investigate, prioritize an escalate field issues to the appropriate engineering groups. During the investigation and troubleshooting of any issues, provide insight into the probable cause of the problem, and uphold communication between the engineering and support teams to ensure end users and dealers are informed on the progress and resolution.
  • Monitor product success metrics (product performance, quality, reliability, customer satisfaction), and regularly inform key stakeholders of results; take appropriate actions if products are underperforming.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (i.e. Land Surveying, Civil Engineering).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Experience performing various land surveying tasks with GNSS and other precise measurement instruments.
  • Knowledge with different areas of land surveying specialization (e.g. geodetic surveying, cadastral surveying, construction surveying)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to work with multiple stake holders
  • Excellent communication skills (written, speaking, and listening) and the ability to work across a diverse set of business functions and teams
  • Interpersonal awareness to work collaboratively with a diverse set of people across groups and organizational levels.
  • Ability to interact with end users and partners to understand their requirements and translate those to actionable concepts.
  • Ability to present technical concepts effectively to audiences with varying levels of proficiency.
The base pay range 106k - 132k is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed. Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.
Topcon offers a comprehensive benefit package for this position including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, tax saving spending accounts a 401(k) plan with employer match, tuition reimbursement in addition to other perks and benefits. We also offer time off for our employees to recharge. Our employees are eligible for paid company holidays, paid personal time off, and paid sick time that meets or exceeds state/local requirements.
Topcon reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation; individual candidate compensation may be determined based on individual skills, experience, training, certifications, education, final work location and other factors not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law. For hourly (“non-exempt”) employees, we offer personal paid time off which accrues in accordance with local standards. For salaried (“exempt”) employees, we offer a flexible paid time off policy giving you flexibility to take time when needed, while supporting business needs. All paid time off policies are in accordance with or exceeding local law. Employees working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for our Health and Welfare benefit package.
