Product Manager, Group Solutions

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Product Manager to join our team! This role will direct product development and be responsible for setting the vision, translating ideas into strategy, and setting long-term product roadmaps. You will work across teams to prevent roadblocks, meet quality standards, project deadlines and business goals.

This position is responsible to lead the team in understanding the group customer in all segments and to identify opportunities and implement solutions to increase engagement and increase customer persistency.

The pay range for this position for Western Washington varies between $95,160.00 – $135,420.00, and for Eastern Washington varies between $76,830.00 - $109,335.00. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Delta Dental of Washington and Arcora Foundation, intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay will also be adjusted based on the candidate's geographic location.

Understands the market

  • Employ a variety of research tactics to support and develop the product/solutions strategy and roadmap
  • Engage with group customers to understand employer and member needs
  • Leverage and interact with the client management team to support concepts for new innovations
  • Evaluate market competition regarding value added tools and products
  • Apply analytic rigor to understand groups customers including but not limited to demographics, benefit utilization, customer service interactions, historical patterns/trends
  • Market research should not be limited to dental benefits administration
  • Explore medical dental integration opportunities
  • Understand all distribution opportunities, brokers, potential medical partners

Own product/solutions strategy

  • Define the business goals and strategy, creating products, services and programs, and then working across teams to implement them.
  • Develop product roadmap to align customer facing business units and development teams, ensuring consistency of tactics with strategic goals
  • Brings innovative products and solutions to group customers by developing product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; and establishing time schedules
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to set development priorities
  • Inspire team to build best in class products
  • Make creative recommendation to expand product base and vision
  • Establish a culture of agility, speed, and learning
  • Once a product is developed, leads the commercialization activities and assists in the development of product information materials for the Sales team related to product features and benefits
  • Engages directly with clients to resolve product issues as needed

Deliver Value

  • Identify, communicate and measure the key performance indicators for group customers related products and services
  • Monitor, maintain and continually enhance products and services to ensure seamless operation and ongoing value

Be the voice of group customers internally and externally

  • Establish effective relationship with key partners, including customer and business stakeholders
  • Introduces and markets new products and services by developing time-integrated communication and roll-out plans
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product/services forecasts and analyses, answering questions and requests.
  • Publish, communicate, and maintain the product roadmap
  • Provide transparency to and set expectations with team members

Leads people

  • Maintains product management team results by coaching and developing employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department

Experience, skills, and education do you need to have to succeed in the position: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 5+ years of work experience in delivering products and services, healthcare related preferred
  • Ability to develop creative, flexible and rapid approaches to business and end-user problems
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed
  • Proficiency with all phases of project management, including issues and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies, milestones and budget, and communication of overall project status.
  • Ability to analyze data and synthesize the needs of diverse user groups into a single product.
  • Experience in applying technology to improve business outcomes
  • Experience working firsthand with cross-functional teams to drive a strategic roadmap, implement new products and/or services, and resolve operational issues.
  • Understanding of provider networks preferred
