Why this job matters
This is a key role in delivering a major TV and Sport project , involving our join venture with Discovery+. You will need to be able to pivot between understanding the big picture, and being detail orientated as you will be responsible for end to end delivery of a number of major workstreams, including:
  • Delivering the required propositions to market, across a number of customer cohorts and IT solutions
  • Working in a cross functional team, looking across the end-to-end design, integration and TV UI
  • Working with third parties to ensure BT remains best in partnerships
What you’ll be doing
  • Prioritise backlog, make decisions on features the squad will delivery; participate in planning and alignment forums within the Tribe
  • Define the scope for the minimum viable product and minimum marketable product for TV based on customer needs, resolving the trade-offs and bridging the gap between customer, business and tech considerations
  • Represent the voice of the customer, regularly seek feedback from users and use the feedback, coupled with quantitative data to iterate rapidly.
  • Work with team to solve customer problems, create user stories to deliver capability
  • Monitor and track the success metrics (e.g. journey NPS) and prioritise work accordingly
  • Facilitate the sprint planning to reaffirm priorities and clarify requirements
  • Responsible for unlocking and delivering benefits/efficiencies in the team, with assistance of the Squad members as requIred
  • Liaise with BAU stakeholders across BT to support delivering efficiencies unlocked by the Squad that need to be deliver in the BAU
  • Align strategy and delivery across TV BAU roadmap
The skills and experience you'll need
  • Experience working in a Product Owner or Product Manager role
  • An understanding of the pay TV industry
  • Product owner certification (MTP/General Assembly/PSPO/CSPO) preferred
  • Previous experience in delivering large scale change - preferred
  • Ability to operate in a complex, fast paced matrixed business environment
  • Change delivery: identify business outcomes, manage dependencies and deliver change in complex environments
  • Stakeholder management with the ability to influence a wide range of different stakeholders with competing priorities
  • Empathy for the customer, using customer feedback and data to understand and define problems, and test potential solutions
  • Business and technology expertise: defined by the project scope, allowing the Product Owner to make decisions on priorities and trade-offs
