Position Summary:
As the senior product marketing manager, you’ll be responsible for defining and executing differentiated product positioning and messaging that highlights both business and technical benefits. A critical requirement for success for the role will be to develop a deep understanding of our diverse target customers, their challenges, and how Platform9 can solve those challenges for them in new and differentiated ways.
To achieve these objectives, you’ll work closely with our visionary product management leadership and our talented go-to-market teams to launch new offerings and associated messaging and key value propositions in our target markets.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Customer Insights– Work with the marketing team on broad customer segmentation and persona development efforts. Conduct in-person interviews with customers and audience representatives, execute surveys, and delve into analyst feedback to guide product messaging and growth strategies.Then develop briefs for product, sales, and marketing on what our marketing is thinking and feeling.

Messaging and Positioning Development- Deliver clearly differentiated, customer-backed positioning and messaging across multiple product lines that reflects the product’s strengths as they relate to persona challenges and needs. Regularly review and analyse existing messaging and positioning against shifting market needs and customer drivers.

Mid / Bottom of Funnel Content Development-You will be responsible for supporting product-centric content to be created across all channels (e.g., web, webinars, events, campaigns, etc.).

Go to Market Guidance Execution- Translate messaging/positioning and packaging strategies into briefs guiding marketing campaign development and sales outreach. Develop key inputs on the customer target and product value proposition to launch new use cases.

Sales enablement – Collaborate with the sales team in driving the creation of necessary collateral, training, and tools to drive growth and efficiency within Platform9 channels.

Product Launches- Work with product and marketing teams to promote and support new launches and ensure products are positioned effectively in the market.

Competitive analysis- Review and analyse competitors in our space, their products, and their messaging. Keep an eye on signals for changes in the market, and provide briefs to sales and marketing highlighting how competitors are talking about themselves and how we should respond, based on our positioning.
Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of software product marketing experience working on both higher-level business value content as well as practitioner-level messaging and assets.

At least 5 years of experience in a technical or field-facing role related to cloud platform, DevOps, SREs, architects, and developers. Infrastructure, IT operations or networking are also valuable.

CRITICAL: Technical subject matter expertise in Kubernetes and cloud native infrastructure, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, cloud, and DevOps approaches. Prior role in product management or engineering would be highly desirable.

Experience with enterprise open source / cloud native software offerings and experience bringing them to market.

Experience with developing and marketing solutions / use cases as well as broader platform messaging.

Familiarity with relevant frameworks to drive product marketing content and company messaging.

Deep customer focus and understanding.

Strong ability to analyse an idea and develop a plan to execute, as well as collaborate with peers to make those ideas a reality.

Excellent ability to translate deep technical features into business benefits and value propositions, including ROI calculations and financial outcomes for our customers.

Excellent communication skills including developing assets of various lengths and technical depth, as well as the ability to present on webinars and in other customer-facing situations.
