Production Control Planner I

MAIN TASKS:

Production Control Plannermanages and facilitates work orders in the Subsea Services workshop for SDS. The maintenance, modification, and repair work orders coordinated by the Production Control Planner serve to prepare equipment for customer use according to operational requirements and priority.

The Production Control Planner develops tactical MMRS execution plans in support of forecasted and active Subsea Services projects.

Planners perform all service order management functions including, but not limited to, sub-order creation, workshop capacity evaluation, workshop dispatching and scheduling, service notification/quality notification initiation and completion, third-party service coordination, and some inventory analysis to ensure the project execution plan can be delivered according to customer requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Works with regular indirect supervision.
  • Able to do broad-scope inventory analyses and make decisions based on such analyses.
  • Able to execute inventory carrying, usage, and planning decisions based on own research and decision-making with some consultation with Manager/Supervisor.
  • Regularly interfaces with inventory management and warehouse department, engineering, workshop and project teams when making decisions requiring judgment or resolving issues requiring creative solutions.
  • Able to make assessments about supply/demand issues, recommend thorough solutions, and take initiatives to address those issues with direct input from supervisors.
  • Able to perform analyses on processes related or including materials planning activities, and recommend and implement process changes to improve results.
  • Errors are detected indirectly by way of reviewing excess inventory, part shortages, and excessive expediting.
  • Possible impact includes late assembly starts, missed on-time deliveries, expensive excess inventory, and higher product costs due to expediting.
  • The impact of the errors could lead to the loss of TechnipFMC's market share and poor financial performance of the Subsea Services Business.
  • Frequent contact with Operations Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers, Customer Operations Planners, Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance, HS&E, and all Shared Services within Subsea Services.
  • All interaction with internal stakeholders occurs to ensure proper execution according to customer requirements.
  • No direct reports.
  • Directs shop floor by prioritizing workload ·
  • Perform accordingly to meet customer needs 24/7. ·
  • Customer service focused on commitment and a sense of urgency to ensure customer success. ·
  • Collaboratively leads personnel to accomplish a required task(s) across all functional teams. ·
  • Identifies and elevates project risk (when necessary) to Project Manager. ·
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues hindering the assembly and test process ·
  • Openly communicates to the highest level when the schedule is in jeopardy of being missed to have priority placed on an issue. Doesn't stop pursuing until the desired result is achieved. ·
  • Develops strong internal and external customer relations for assigned projects. ·
  • Acts as the project's secondary communication contact (internal and external).

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Houston Operating Procedures, Quality & Safety Training. Intermediate Materials Management/Planning Techniques and concepts. APICS classes working toward certification. Systems training (SAP and P6), Product training and Synchronous Flow Manufacturing Techniques. PC software including spreadsheet and word processing, print interpretation and negotiation skills training. May perform more advanced functions as part of training and development.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office environment with frequent trips to the shop and to other offices in the plant. Some exposure to possible shop hazards including high noise, heavy machinery and shop traffic. Fast paced environment with repetitive transactions. Multiple priorities and constant change.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent walking and standing in shop during final project stages. Frequent sitting and operating PC.
