Position Overview

As the Production Planner you will be a part of the Computacenter United States Inc. Integration Center (IC) team and will play a central role in production and inventory management by developing, maintaining, and publishing production plans and inventory reporting for Computacenter United States Inc’s customers. In this role you will plan/forecast, organize, direct and control activities in the Computacenter United States Inc.’s Integration Center (IC) including master scheduling of production, material fulfillment, perform appropriate project close-out activities, and support the functions of the Production Supervisors and Operations Managers. You will provide a critical link to the Engineering, Program Management, Sales, Purchasing and Manufacturing teams to adequately support all project planning activities.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.

  • Establish projects in Computacenter United States Inc. business systems.

  • Perform planning and scheduling functions involved with creating/managing work orders, coordinating products and materials movement through the manufacturing processes to completion and on-time shipment.

  • Review backlog to determine materials shortages and capacity requirements to provide commitments feedback to customer.

  • Coordinate the efficient expediting of materials and work in process with purchasing, production and engineering.

  • Proactively identify areas of potential supply concerns, keeping in mind capacity constraints, shortages and communicates analysis/recommendations to all parties impacted.

  • Provide oversight for inbound/outbound logistics and inventory control.

  • Maintain adequate inventories to support operations while minimizing inventory investments.

  • Effectively manage by ensuring any changes are documented and approved both internally and externally.

  • Assist in the validation of entry in to the business systems for the following: team timecards, expense reports, issue documentation, project plan updates, and project documentation.

  • Ensure all project plan updates and project documentation are entered into the business systems in a timely fashion, verifying accuracy and completeness.

  • Request and track vendor purchase orders.

  • Support invoicing and project closure functions.

  • Support functions of the Project Coordinators and Project Managers.

Education & Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience of sales or services administration, preferably in the IT industry.

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States


Skills & Competencies

  • Experience in creating schedules for multi-faceted projects.

  • Experience in inventory management.

  • Manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and work efficiently.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills; able to use discretion when making decisions and performing job duties.

  • Attention to detail, consistent follow-up on all ongoing activities for the full lifecycle from project opportunity setup to project closeout.

  • Able to work independently, as well as with peers.

  • Strong working knowledge of computer system applications (e.g.: Windows, Microsoft Office, OSX, Salesforce).
