Our Global Supply Chain business unit has approximately 17,000 employees, working from 54 production sites in 19 countries. We supply hygiene products for our business areas Consumer Tissue (Toilet paper, Household towels, Handkerchiefs, Facial tissues, Wet wipes and Napkins), Professional Hygiene (TORK) and Personal Care (Incontinence Products, Feminine Care and Baby Care). The unit was formed on June 1, 2019 by merging the two entities Supply Chain Development and Global Manufacturing. Prior to 2019, the unit operated in two separate entities, known as GHS Tissue and GHS Personal Care.

About the Role

Essity’s Global Supply Chain/Manufacturing team in North America is looking for an experienced Production Planner. This position will be located at our manufacturing facility in Manchester, CT.

What You Will Do

  • Schedule production for different departments to best satisfy customer requirements, inventory stocking levels, or machine utilization levels. Expedite or de-expedite orders as appropriate;
  • Central point of contact with regards to the production schedules and vital supply issues;
  • Central point of contact for quality and service issues with vital supplies, this includes follow up with vendors for resolution of issues;
  • Central point of contact with toll manufacturers and other external processing providers, this includes follow up for resolution of issues;
  • Must demonstrate an ability to schedule equipment in any product area internally and knowledge of purchasing products externally;
  • Must demonstrate willingness to take on projects beyond the normal planning activities as assigned by the Site Leadership Team;
  • Monitor current production conditions, adjust the schedules to meet customer requirements, correct for deviations in production efficiencies, and account for seasonality and capacity constraints;
  • Review supplies requirements and reorder as needed to maintain an uninterrupted production plan, while minimizing inventory exposure;
  • Review and calculate supply and finished goods inventory and planning parameters to ensure an adequate, but not excessive, stock on hand;
  • Ensure data integrity in all production control systems;
  • Communicate product availability information or production status information as requested;
  • With direction from the Operations/Plant Manager and Production Manager, assist in balancing production capabilities and capacities throughout production process.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or an Associate degree in Business or related field with minimum three years of experience, or high school graduate with minimum of five years of experience;
  • Planning experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment or other production/inventory planning related experience;
  • Previous purchasing, supervision or training related experience a plus;
  • Previous work in a team based environment a plus;
  • Previous experience in medical device or similar regulated or ISO industry a plus;
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills;
  • Good problem solving and math skills;
  • SAP or ERP system knowledge;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
