As a Production Supervisor, you are responsible for supervising the Packaging Department and for the coordination of all line management functions regarding production planning, production output, equipment maintenance, management of people, quality, safety, and sanitation of the processing and departments. In this role you will be required to be a problem solver that drives Continuous Improvement efforts across the plant. This position provides exciting professional development for those ambitious to make a difference.
- Supervise in the packaging department.
- Plan and schedule work for personnel to meet production and shipping schedules.
- Utilize equipment and material to meet definite quality standards in the packaging department.
- Maintain all daily packaging department reports, inventory counts, and data entry.
- Ensure that finished products are consistently manufactured meeting prescribed standards (compliant), on time and meeting consumer expectations through coaching of employees.
- Maintain operation with established standards for cost, quality, labor, materials, scrap, safety, and housekeeping.
- Assign employees to jobs; instruct them in the performance of jobs and familiarize them with company rules and regulations.
- Maintain discipline and recommend transfers or discharges of employees.
- Schedule all projects and emergency repairs for the packaging department.
Other duties and responsibilities:
- Special projects from your direct manager and departmental manager.
- Supervise through change as needed.
- Other duties as required by supervision, none of which would require physical or mental ability that is not already needed to perform other duties as specifically listed.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment
- Flexibility to work weekends and 12 hour shifts
