POSITION: Production Supervisor
This position is with OMNI Systems Inc. (Gardner, KS) and reports to Plant Manager. This is a full-time position in the manufacturing area. Normal work schedule will be 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flexibility will be required to modify start and stop times to meet business needs. It is a salaried, exempt position.
Responsibilities
- Responsible to see that plans are created and executed to meet department and plant objectives for safety, on-time delivery, quality, cost, ISO, housekeeping and regulatory compliance.
- Ensures proper operation of presses and other production related equipment, requesting maintenance when necessary.
- Interprets job specifications, blueprints, and job orders and assigns to production personnel.
- Inspects and approves press set-ups. Continually monitors operations including color reproduction, registration, speed, drying, and print quality.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work related problems.
- Directs and guides performance of employees, including performance reviews and employee counseling statements. Establishes appropriate accountabilities and goals.
- Communicates priorities between shifts.
- Identifies training and development needs of staff and initiates appropriate programs. Assures that the duties, responsibilities and authority of each job function is clearly defined and communicated to the appropriate personnel.
- Assists in the development of internal procedures and documentation to support the manufacturing operations.
- Identifies, prioritizes, and assists in the implementation of improvement projects or system enhancements, which will result in efficiency improvements, quality improvements, and/or cost savings.
- Provides other departments with the necessary production or quality information necessary to carry out their assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain adherence to Company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
- Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of 5 years of production experience; or equivalent of education and experience. College degree in a related field and/or experience in printing industry is preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to read a blueprint.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
- Ability to influence individuals.
- A proactive hands-on attitude to getting things done.
- Ability to work in a focused, results-oriented manner, ensuring challenging deadlines are met.
- Ability to handle pressure.
- Sound administrative and managerial skills, along with excellent communication, supervision and people skills.

- The physical demands required while performing the duties of this job include: required regularly to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must sometimes lift / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions, fumes, toxic chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $53,324.32 - $64,218.54 per year
