PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Role Overview

The Production Supervisor will oversee production in the North Carolina facility and is responsible for directing production employees to meet productivity, quality, delivery and safety goals. This position reports directly to the CrewBoss Operations Manager.



Responsibilities

  • Supervision of production employees in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist production employees to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems
  • Establish employee daily goals
  • Work in production as needed
  • Work closely with Procurement to ensure scheduled delivery dates of materials needed for projects
  • Must be able to assist the Operations Manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas. - Manages departmental performance metrics and provides regular progress reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Be a progressive thinker and role model: enable efficiency enhancing tools such as LEAN manufacturing, cycle time reduction and other manufacturing enhancing methodologies
  • Interact with team production and customer order status
  • Works closely with Accounting, Production and Purchasing to help establish SOPs
  • Ensure continuing compliance to current edition of NFPA 1971 Standards on Protective Clothing and Equipment
  • Supports and maintains ISO standards and practices and ensures that all requirements are followed and met.
  • Review and approve employee hours worked and/or leave taken. Approve timecards on a biweekly basis
    • If necessary, work with the employee and/or HR/ Payroll to correct errors
    • By approving, the manager/supervisor affirms, to the best of their knowledge, that the hours recorded are a true representation of the employees hours worked and/or leave taken
  • Provide employees with ongoing support, feedback and counseling on performance issues, conduct annual performance reviews and, when necessary, disciplinary and corrective action.
  • Ensure employees follow company policies are held accountable
  • Liaise with HR (Human Resources) to address employee issues regarding resolution and escalation in a timely manner, identify employee training needs and maintain and enforce a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/ move a minimum of 25 pounds of material without assistance.
  • Ability to sit, bend or stand for long periods of time
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced



Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • 2 years of demonstrated front-line supervisory experience
  • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Suite programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP, WMS, CRM or Work Order Management Systems preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus
