Production Support Engineer - 2nd Shift

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Supports and develops the work team decision making allowing the team itself to become dedicated to continuous improvement in order to meet the customer requirements of quality and quantity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor process and quality ensuring a continuous flow. Seeking improvements in these areas with constant communication, involving team members and all production support disciplines.
Provide daily goals and direction to team members
Act as a team floater. Fill in for absent team members or for those working off line.
Team advocate. Interface with other lines or departments on the teams behalf.
Insure that proper inventory levels are maintained for both raw materials and WIP.
Emphasize and show commitment to continuous improvement.
Work with other associates to permanently resolve quality issues, line rejects/field returns.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate ATP and continuous improvement meetings.
Team organizer. Facilitate assignment of off line tasks: attendance, line schedule, data entry, supplies, etc.
Accountable for the teams achievement of goals concerning quality and quantity.
Concentrate on corrective action by looking below the surface to find the true root cause.
Participates in hiring, evaluating performance, and the exercising of discipline as outlined by company policy with regard to team members.
Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

POSITION DEMANDS:

Ability to learn and perform all responsibilities of the team member.
High ability to train and teach team members.
Signed off and experienced in the majority of the jobs to be trained preferred.
Basic PC skills preferred.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
High school degree preferred.
Good communication skills (oral and written) to effectively communicate with team members desirable.
Ability to communicate a general understanding of the company policy and team culture.

This position reports to the Production Group Leader.
