Job Description: Machine Operator

Work Location : 2510 19th St SW, Mason City, IA 50401

Shifts: Multiple Shifts (typically) Available but currently open is:

1st: Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm (or 5pm)

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Overview:

An Operator will work in a high-performance work organization on a cross functional team that utilizes the operator’s ability to perform multiple tasks and work within a team environment. Operators need to be cooperative and willing to apply their skills and rotate positions on a regular basis to make the team successful.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work safely and follow safety rules and procedures
Read, understand, and follow production schedules
Process transactions
Set up and adjust equipment
Gather materials as needed
Perform quality checks
Operate motorized equipment (ie forklift, lifts, etc) as needed
Perform minor preventative maintenance and operator care as required
Communicate effectively for flow of product through the plant
Perform housekeeping duties
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Work with training new employees

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Work on a computer
Use a Tape Measure, Caliper
Use Hand and power tools
Basic reading and writing skills
Ability to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers, convert fractions to decimals
Ability to read, follow, and understand work instructions
Ability to do small repairs on doors

Physical Requirements:

Lift 1-30# frequently (up to 50% in a 10-hour day)
Lift 30-60# regularly (up to 30% in a 10-hour day)
Lift 60+# occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)
Push/Pull 100# with assistance seldom (up to 13% in a 10-hour day)
Kneel occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)
Squat occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)
Stoop/Bend frequently (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)
Work with extended arms seldom (up to 13% in a 10-hour day)
Stand in one spot for long periods
Work in an environment that can be hot or cold, noisy and/or dusty

Education & Experience:

A High School Diploma or GED certificate
One year of prior manufacturing experience (preferred)
