Professional Development Manager

How Will You Make a Difference?

  • Work with the Director of Professional Development and firm leadership to maintain legal staff evaluation procedures and resources. Maintain performance evaluations systems including reporting databases for practice group leadership.
  • Monitor attorney productivity to identify skills gaps and training opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee professional development related firm policies and communications within the firm.
  • Oversee the utilization and effectiveness of the exit process including exit interviews and outplacement coaching. Conduct principal level exit interviews. Report quarterly themes and findings.
  • Manage the attorney and technology specialist Upward, Mid-Year and Year-end review processes. Compile and analyze data from reviews to inform training needs and other professional development initiatives.

What Will You Bring to the Table?

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ legal talent development experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including critical thinking, risk-taking and creativity.
  • Master level project management skills including the hands-on ability to effectively manage many different projects, develop milestones, and keep them on an objectively verifiable moving-forward schedule, while fostering teamwork and collaboration with projects.
