About the role
We are looking for an Industry & Academic Partnerships Program Advisor to own and lead the implementation of our partnership strategy. In this exciting new role, you will help to design and implement effective partnerships with various stakeholders, while engaging with colleges and universities. As part of your duties, you will also partner with various internal teams which include the following departments: Legal, Human Resources, Procurement, Learning and Development, Global Learning and Talent Teams, Operations, etc.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is curious, creative, and has a collaborative approach to problem-solving, while strategically adapting to ever-growing and changing business needs.
Under the leadership of the Capability Development Manager, your duties will include:

Creating a roadmap for partnership success based on business needs and focus areas

Working with internal stakeholders to determine and establish the partnership approach specific to the business need and focus area

Organizing and leading project teams aligned with the strategic focus areas
-
Identifying opportunities to engage within the community, universities, and industry partners including the coordination of engagements and attendance to events to assess potential partnership opportunities

Engaging with key functions and leaders internally to ensure alignment and internal partnering
-
Developing and implementing strategies for the identification, cultivation, and launch of various partnerships

Establishing and managing the details of partnerships, budgets, contracts, tracking, reporting systems, and program operations to maintain accountability.

Collaborating with leads to ensure alignment and consistency in how we partner

Identifying opportunities to streamline and create consistency
-
Providing thought leadership in how we continue to improve our partnership initiatives
-
Liaising with potential partners and staying abreast on industry trends
-
Updating and revising our partnership strategy as needed
What you’ll bring
To be considered for this role, you will:
-
A bachelor’s degree in a related field
-
At least five years of experience working in academia, university relations, college relations, or other relevant experience
-
Demonstrated experience in partnering across large and complex business portfolios, government, industry groups, and educational organizations
-
Demonstrated experience in partnering with leaders to introduce workforce development and drive transformational change
-
Effective communication and influencing skills when engaging with internal and external stakeholders
-
Ability to navigate the intricacies of collaborating with teams and partners, while managing and engaging with various stakeholders
-
Proactive and knowledgeable about developing public relations and partnerships internally and externally
-
Experience in strategy development, change management and project management
-
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment through mutually benefiting relationships and communication skills

Be a proactive and self-motivated to work independently

Where you will be working
Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter, and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
