South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension is looking for our next Program & Volunteer Coordinator for our Better Choices, Better Health SD program. We are looking for a people-centered and motivated professional who is skilled in providing leadership for the creation and implementation of a collective vision pertaining to educational outreach with individuals, families, communities, and organizations in the areas of nutrition, health and wellness, , and gerontology. This position will be located in one of the regional offices in: Winner, Lemmon or Pierre and is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is open to current regular SDSU employees.
Better Choices, Better Health© SD is a community-led evidence-based self-management education program developed at Stanford University and licensed by the Self-Management Resource Center. The program is supported by SDSU Extension, the South Dakota Department of Health and the South Dakota Department of Human Services and offers chronic disease self-management education workshops that are designed to help adults living with ongoing physical and/or mental health conditions and caregivers understand how healthier choices can improve quality of life, boost self-confidence, and inspire positive lifestyle changes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Program and Volunteer Coordinator provides a blend of services for the Better Choices, Better Health SD (BCBH-SD) program that includes program coordination, volunteer management, leader engagement, workshop scheduling and oversight, outreach, and reporting.
SALARY RANGE:
The salary range for this position is $48,949. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available per university’s guidelines.
