Position Overview:

The Program Coordinator of Undergraduate Recruitment is a critical member of the UMBC-Shady Grove Administrative Team focusing on the recruitment of prospective transfer students in tandem with providing undergraduate applicants guidance and support through the admission and enrollment funnel. The primary location for the position is at the Universities at Shady Grove.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available.



Responsibilities:

In addition to focusing on the recruitment of prospective transfer students and providing undergraduate applicants guidance, the Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for providing overall pre-transfer advising to prospective students as a means to help our prospective students develop an academic plan of action for transfer into their undergraduate program of choice.

Specific duties include:

  • Coordinates and implements recruitment and yield activities (including but not limited to open houses, formal recruitment event programming, off-site visits, special programming, and orientations)
  • Counsels prospective undergraduate students with the application and admission processes through online webinars, application labs, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Organizes and conducts pre-transfer advising sessions (on-site at Shady Grove and off site at local community colleges)
  • Advises prospective students on university general education and graduation requirements.
  • Provides insight, voice, perspective, and support regarding recruitment and retention-related marketing initiatives.
  • Actively tracks, reports, and analyzes undergraduate application and enrollment progress and trends.
  • Occasional recruitment events are held on nights/weekends.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of two years of experience in higher education
  • Experience in undergraduate admissions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in advising, transfer support work
  • Customer Service experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic tools to manage data and information
