Responsibilities:
PROGRAM MANAGER 2

THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a Program Manager with technical experience in semiconductor product development for its Product Engineering Strategic Operations team. This team is responsible for attaining the long-term goals for the product and test engineering organization by managing product and technology development initiatives that are aligned with that goal.

THE PERSON:
  • Experience working in cross functional teams with engineering, product management, and other functions involved in product development lifecycle
  • Demonstrates ability to create and execute strategic initiatives from definition and planning to execution and closure
  • Possesses good foundational understanding of semiconductor product development and product lifecycle management
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems using root cause problem solving techniques
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Ability to network, build relationships and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization
  • Effectively manages stakeholders within the organization and in cross-functional/cross-organizational teams
  • Experience managing projects in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to manage risks to the project plan
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the Product Lifecycle Management process
  • Manage a portfolio of strategic product and technology development initiatives
  • This is a customer-focused and solution-oriented role which requires guiding executive leadership, project sponsors and stakeholders to develop project solutions that deliver against objectives
  • Drive initiatives with diverse, cross-functional and globally distributed teams
  • Guide the team as the program evolves from strategy planning through measurement, reporting and communication
  • Oversee multiple project teams and ensure that program goals are achieved
  • Define and execute to stakeholder and change management plans
  • Individual hands-on management of select projects

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience managing projects in the semiconductor industry
  • ISO certification program experience
  • PMP or equivalent certification is preferred
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Ability to use data to drive decisions and to communicate these decisions effectively to a wide audience

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • MBA preferred
  • BS in an engineering field

Qualifications:
At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
