The Role
Lush is looking for a product/software development Programme Manager to work remotely from the UK or Europe (with the option to work from selected UK and Europe offices where available). You’ll be working as part of a product centric engineering team who design, build and maintain both new and existing products and services.

As a Programme Manager, you’ll be part of a key group of Digital Leads acting as subject matter experts. You’ll use your expertise to scope and define your programme roadmap, offer strategic input into process improvements, and ensure effective knowledge transfer across your team and with key stakeholders.

Optimising performance to the Nth degree; the Programme Manager will have a solution first approach to objectives, manage resources and roadmapping accordingly. This role must work closely with their Project Managers to ensure cohesivity and effective delivery.

Responsibilities;
  • Lead, develop and support the Project Manager(s) working across the projects under your programme of work. Obtain an expert understanding of how the team and the work fits within the context of the organisation.
  • Identifying and coordinating the interdependencies among projects, products, and other important strategic initiatives across an organization.
  • Role model best practice in delivery and operational standards, embedding consistent ways of working and processes across your team through documentation, training, development and reviews.
  • Define and lead the programme roadmap
  • Collaborate with stakeholders/owners and leads to define and estimate all new initiatives for their programme.
  • Collaborate with discipline leads and recruitment to resource the best team for each project whilst ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Report on programme KPIs, budget and resource.
Essential experience;
  • Working as part of a remote team
  • Leading a team
  • Building and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Working with a diverse group of stakeholders and managing conflicting requirements.
  • Managing third party suppliers, contractors and vendors to time and budget.
  • Delivering technical programmes of work for product/software development teams
  • Delivering web and native apps
  • Operational reporting
  • Change management
Essential skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (both technical and non technical).
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Jira and an understanding of user stories, estimation and status updates on tickets
  • Ability to pre-empt problems and solve them quickly
  • Open, honest and direct. Comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback.
These aren’t essential, but it would be great if you also had;
  • Knowledge of different project and programme management methodologies
  • Understanding of microservice design principles
  • Experience in retail POS systems
