DESCRIPTION

The PAII position is a remote position. Candidate must reside in the Central, Mountain or Pacific time zone.

  • As a part of our Engineering Financial Operations Team, a Project Accountant is responsible for providing high-level financial analysis on a portfolio of projects through their life cycle and must thoroughly understand the financial components of a project and proactively work with Project Managers to monitor and analyze project performance against budget. Must have the ability to identify issues before project profit erosion occurs and assist with the development of a corrective action plan, if needed.
  • Month end Exception Reporting, Revenue at Risk, Out of Scope and Unbilled reporting.
  • Facilitation of Monthly Invoicing
  • Accurate project set up in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract. Responsible to review the contract and understand the contract terms regarding project type, scope of work and invoicing terms. Verify the subconsultant budget is created in accordance to the terms as stipulated in the contract.
  • Day to day interaction with project managers monitoring and analyzing financial project performance.

Accounts Receivable – follow up on payment status for projects past due invoices

Insurance Certificates – request new COI and endorsements for projects from insurance carrier

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-7+ Years Industry Related Experience
  • 4 Year Degree
  • You’ll need to be outgoing, organized, and detailed. You’ll also need to be able to work with and build relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
  • You’ll need to be able to quickly get up to speed on your assigned projects as well as Michael Baker International policies, procedures and databases and acquire an understanding of the Project Accountant role at Michael Baker International.
  • Naturally, you’ll need computer skills (Microsoft Office), with an Intermediate level of experience in Excel and Oracle Accounting software experience preferred.
  • You’ll need general knowledge and understanding of accounting laws and practices.
  • Candidate must reside in the Mountain or Pacific time zone.

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$113,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
