Project Coordinator/Office Assistant

Responsibilities:
Working under the direction of the College of Science Dean’s Operations Manager, the Project Coordinator/Office Assistant will provide support to the College administration activities, including high level coordination and preparation of meetings, events, travel and conferences, and assisting with other College programs and activities, such as supporting of mid-level office functions in support of day-to-day administrative operations. The selected candidate is also expected to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
This position offers some flexibility in schedule and work location depending on specific project/event logistical constraints and office staffing needs. This is a part-time wage employment, up to 29 hours per week dependent on work volume.
Additional duties include:
- Front office coverage if necessary on occasion;
- Collect and analyze data for records and reports;
- Maintain a variety of office database and spreadsheet applications; and
- Purchase supplies and process reimbursements.
Required Qualifications:
- Organizational skills and attention to details; and
- Communication skills and customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with George Mason University, or other academic institutional knowledge; and
- Experience with meeting, event, and conference organization and support.
