About Our Opportunity

The Project Manager works with the Head of Process Improvement and Execution to create and/or improve systems and processes that enable all employees at Farm Credit Mid-America to produce the best possible results for customers.

How You Will Spend Your Time


1. Manage all aspects of projects, from inception through project closure, ensuring that project management methodology is applied to all phases of the project lifecycle. This will include leading and facilitating planning sessions to assist in determining project approach and overall timelines associated with project requirements for strategic projects, cross-functional departmental projects and the work required to execute the department of Operational Excellence department plan.

2. Overseeing an individual portfolio of 1 – 3 projects in multiple phases and geographic locations.

3. Manage projects with multiple workstreams. This will include providing oversight to support and coordinate work stream activities to ensure project goals are met.

4. Directing, negotiating, and managing conflict resolution to ensure that cross-functional team members, often with disparate priorities, remain focused on project objectives.

5. Effectively manages expectations with multiple stakeholders. Keeps team members engaged and facilitates project planning and implementation.

6. Work closely with the Business Transformation (BT) department and other departments to automate and operationalize new and improved processes.

7. Represent and communicate the mission and values of Farm Credit Mid-America and abide by its conduct policy, security policy and confidentiality expectations.


Minimum Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, finance, statistics, business or related field
  • At least one to two years of successful experience in business process management, business process reengineering, project management or continuous improvement in a transactional environment
  • Experience developing business requirements, test plans or implementing systems.
  • Knowledge of process improvement and the project management body of knowledge; certified associate in project management desired.
  • Applies the highest degree of professionalism to the execution of daily work
  • Leverages the talent of relevant staff for the sake of achieving project objectives.
  • Develops a professional development plan with inputs from key leaders and effectively applies knowledge gained to achieve business results.

  • Strong analysis and communication skills are a must.
  • Engage in telephone and face-to-face conversation to serve internal customers and give and receive information from staff, vendors, outside consultants and the public.
  • Use computer. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
  • Speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on technical subjects related to job.
  • Travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
  • Successfully interact with and represent the organization to staff, officers, board members, customers, vendors, and/or the public at all levels.
  • Provide sound technical advice to leaders and other staff in the subject field(s) related to this position.
  • Understand and explain various subject matter and consulting concepts, programs, terminology, and methods.
  • Reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and critique such information as written material, numerical data, responses to customer needs, and/or other related work activities.
