Job Summary
Project Manager I will primarily support projects and activities of the Biomaterials, Microbiology Core, and Customer Tools within the Molecular Biology System Sustainment and SLC Shared Resources Department. This position is responsible for managing projects throughout the life cycle of a project including Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring /Controlling, and Closing. Ensures projects and activities are conducted in compliance within the Quality Management System (QMS) and seeks to implement QMS processes, where needed. Work is primarily collaborative and requires the ability to communicate and coordinate with peers and supervisor(s) from various departments effectively and respectfully.
The MBSSI Project Manager I should be familiar with principles, practices and procedures of microbiology, molecular biology, and real-time RT-PCR. Understanding of design control, change control and risk management is preferred.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Performs all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMérieux Quality System. Ensure compliance with QMS and regulatory requirements.
2. Follow policies and procedures and conduct oneself professionally and in accordance with the bioMérieux Employment Handbook.
3. Efficiently manage multiple projects throughout the project lifecycle within each project's set of constraints (Scope, Schedule, Cost, Resources, Risk, and Quality).
4. Report on project success criteria including results, metrics, and risks to stakeholders.
5. Identifies, prioritizes, and proactively monitors changes or risks that may affect projects. Track project performance and resolve issues, conflicts, and dependencies for critical path tasks.
6. Prepare detailed project plans for all project phases. Develop and maintain timelines, schedule meetings, create agendas and presentations, facilitate discussions, and document meeting minutes and action items.
7. Write and revise project-specific documentation, and present change notifications, change orders, protocols and reports, work instruction documents, standard operating procedures, qualifications, product specifications, and verification and validation plans.
8. Helps identify any gaps in knowledge of processes or practices and brings them to key stakeholders.
9. Improve processes within the scope of responsibilities and projects.
10. Investigate, create, and develop new methods and technologies to advance projects.
11. Adhere to bioMérieux's Change Control Process and Quality Management System.
12. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure projects and activities are scoped and completed on schedule.
13. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Training and Education
- Requires a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent; PMP certification preferred but not required.
Experience
- 3 years of relevant work experience in microbiology and/or molecular diagnostics.
- 2 years of project management or related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of project management software and techniques.
- Has comprehensive knowledge of current and evolving microbiology and molecular biology principles, tools, and techniques relevant to developing diagnostic tests for infectious diseases.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, effective time management, and self-motivation
- An ability to work well within a team, including supporting the team with a helpful attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- An ability to discern which information is critical to track and share with project stakeholders.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Timeline, and Word) or equivalent project management software.
