Framatome is seeking a Project Manager for our Old Forest Road office in Lynchburg, Virginia. Under broad supervision, this position is responsible for managing moderately complex single product line projects from proposal development and award through contract closeout. Responsibilities typically include planning, scheduling and control of project activities to achieve project objectives.


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides project leadership for moderately complex single product line projects.
  • Prepares project plans/schedules/materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
  • Utilizes approved project management methods and processes.
  • Provides primary interface between project team, management and client.
  • Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinates multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
  • Defines and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives.
  • Manages cash flow and ensures attainment of expected cash position.
  • Pursue engineering and manufacturing service sales opportunities with the customers, which typically encompass some business develop, proposals, support for contracting, and project execution, in accordance with financial goals.
  • Expected to achieve and continue to maintain Framatome PM Certification.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:

  • Bachelors Degree plus a minimum of 8 years of related work experience or experience in lieu of degree. At least 4 years of project-related experience is required. Advanced degrees may substitute for years of related experience.

The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:

  • Knowledge of major PM plan development, implementation
  • Strong business and/or technical expertise in a related capacity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff & management, both internally and with Customers
  • Excellent working knowledge of PC based applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer focus with emphasis on teamwork and business solutions
  • Excellent report development and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of commercial nuclear business, with PWR fuel-related products (fuel and/or engineering analyses)
  • Experience interacting with PWR Fuel Utility Customers (esp. Constellation and APS/Palo Verde) in a business and/or technical teamwork environment
  • Experience leading project teams (technical and/or commercial)
  • Direct involvement with Contracts and commercial aspects a plus
  • Key Competencies: Conflict Management, Customer Focus, Timely Decision Making, Informing, Negotiating, Organizing, Planning, Priority Setting, Problem Solving, Building Effective Teams

Our total rewards package

The range of base salary for the position is between $106,000 - $143,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
