Property Maintenance Associate - Washington DC

$28 - $30/hour (1099 contract)

On-call, part-time schedule = approximately 15-20 hours per week

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the maintenance of properties within the assigned territory, by either resolving issues yourself or by assigning vendors to resolve issues that require a license or special knowledge.
  • Respond and action on maintenance requests, through in-person resolution including repairs & troubleshooting.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance walk-throughs of each of our buildings, fixing any minor issues, documenting what was repaired, and noting anything that may need further attention/repairs.
  • Report all resolutions in the tracking system.
  • In partnership with the Support Department, receive requests from Residents and ensure that all requests/complaints are addressed, and tasks/tickets are assigned properly and adhere to SLAs.
  • Ensure that housekeepers/maintenance vendors are properly equipped, respond to tickets in a timely manner, and deliver services per SLAs.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager on the availability and delivery of maintenance supplies.
  • Manage Landlord relations, preparing requests and supporting materials for fixing problems related to property maintenance and following through on resolution.
  • Perform post-renovation inspections, ensuring the project’s scope of work is completed and the property is ready to be occupied.
  • Hold and keep track of all keys in your designated portfolio.
  • Develop/maintain relationships with key vendors in your designated portfolio (handy-persons, housekeepers, plumbers, electricians, laborers, etc.)

What you need to be successful:

  • 2+ years’ experience in Residential property management on the consumer-facing side or hotel industry in housekeeping/maintenance roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Willingness to work long and sometimes irregular hours
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude with a passion for problem-solving
  • Excellent team player who thrives in a hands-on environment
  • Preferred candidates will have previous tenant relations experience
