Role

Protect AI is seeking a Cloud and Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our growing security team and work closely with the CTO and engineering to ensure that our business and information technology systems are secure. The role will work very closely with our engineering team to secure the build and deployment of our ‘Protect AI Platform’ covering everything from AI supply chain security and ML Model Scanning to LLM Security.

Responsibilities:

• Create secure deployment patterns for deployment and operations in AWS, GCP, and AWS Cloud Native infrastructures

• Design, implement, administer, and support security controls in cloud environments.

• Perform security hardening, administration, and monitoring within the Protect AI cloud environment.

• Run cyber reconnaissance to map the attack surface and actively work to reduce and address threats and exposures.

• Monitor, investigate, and mitigate cloud incidents and breaches in collaboration with engineering.

• Develop log management procedures and best practices.

• Support BC/DR activities including backup and restore testing.

• Work with the security team, product team, and network engineers as needed in order to remediate security vulnerabilities.

• Develop forward thinking and sustainable approaches to IAM life cycles across multiple platforms.

• Manage intrusion detection and breach investigations, scheduling and conducting internal vulnerability assessments.

• Assist with customer provisioning, project execution activities, and other daily information security tasks.

• Collaborate across functions (Product Managers and Engineers) to understand security requirements and develop best-fit solutions.

Qualifications:

1. Significant experience (4+ years) building, deploying, and maintaining security software systems on AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes based infrastructure.

2. Experience with the shared responsibility model and ZTA deployments.

3. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineering driven teams.

4. Attention to detail; highly organized and methodical; strong adherence to policies and procedures.

5. Ability to create effective, scalable, and sustainable processes and procedures in a rapid moving environment.

6. Able to author AARs, RCAs, incident and breach reports.

7. Significant experience working with containers and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps best practices.

8. Significant expertise in IaC and SaC tools (Terraform, CDK/CloudFormation).

9. Available 24/7 to conduct and support incident response procedures if needed.

10. Experience building Kubernetes Operators to automate security operation tasks.

11. Strong communication and problem solving skills.
