We are looking for an energetic and committed Project Manager to join our Customer Success team at our HQ in Amsterdam.
In this role, you will work closely with the Sales team and their customers to ensure orders are sourced and fulfilled on-time and on-spec. This role involves monitoring ongoing orders, managing customer requests, building and maintaining customer relationships, meeting delivery deadlines, and resolving complex problems with multiple stakeholders. The Project Manager utilizes in-house software to manage customer inquiries and takes ownership of customer satisfaction throughout the production process.

What you'll do:- Work closely with Sales team and customers: Collaborate with the Sales team and their customers during the quoting and production phase, providing support through post-delivery.
- Project coordination for key customer: Execute and oversee projects from start to completion for key customers, ensuring all phases run smoothly and deadlines are met.
- Handle new injection moulding orders: Manage simple injection moulding orders from order intake through the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) phase, tooling, and production, ensuring successful delivery of parts.
- Monitor ongoing orders: Respond in a timely fashion to inquiries from internal or external stakeholders in tandem with the production-facing team. Proactively reach out to customers to provide updates and keep them informed about the progress of their orders.
- Use in-house software for customer requests: Utilise our in-house software (Notion, Freshdesk, Hubspot) to manage all incoming requests from their customers. Handle customer inquiries, requests, and updates via email and phone, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Build and manage customer relationships and escalations: Build and manage dedicated relationships with customers by serving as a trusted contact, providing insight and experience throughout the production process. Serve as the primary contact for critical issues, managing escalations efficiently to maintain customer trust and satisfaction. Foster long-term relationships with strategic clients, ensuring ongoing support and alignment with customer needs.
- Customer issue resolution and technical expertise: Partner with the Quality Resolutions team to manage nonconformance issues and quality concerns, ensuring timely and fair resolutions. Develop a deep understanding of CNC machining, Sheet Metal fabrication, Injection Moulding, and 3D printing to address technical issues effectively.
- Follow and improve internal processes: Identify areas for process improvements and lead initiatives to streamline workflows between Sales, Logistics, Quality Control, Quality Resolution and Partner Support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and meet yearly departmental goals.
- Manage escalations and stakeholder relationships: Serve as the primary contact for critical issues, handling escalations efficiently and fostering long-term relationships with strategic clients.
What it takes:- 1-2 years of experience in an engineering / manufacturing role, interfacing with customers
- (Under)graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or experience in the field of additive and subtractive manufacturing)
- Understanding of Protolabs’ core manufacturing technologies (CNC Machining, 3D printing, Sheet Metal, Injection Moulding)
- A desire to ensure our customers have the best possible experience when manufacturing parts through Protolabs
- Experience building and maintaining customer relationships
- Timeliness to meet strict delivery deadlines while managing a large number of different orders simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to take ownership of and resolve complex problems with multiple stakeholders
- Fluent German and English language skills (verbal and written)
- Bonus: Any other language skills at professional level
