QA Automation Engineer

As QA Automation Engineer in Marco Polo Network Engineering, you will be working alongside Developers, QA Automation Engineers, Product Owners in refinement and delivery of built in quality features for the Marco Polo platform. You will champion best practice and tooling in MPN Engineering in test & quality and continuously looking to identify opportunities to refine and further automate our processes.

On any given day you might:

As QA Automation Engineer you will have many responsibilities including but not limited to:

• As part of an agile team, supporting Dev/QA Engineers, Architects & Product Owners in refinement and delivery of new product features:
• Understanding full scope of testing required (UI, API, migration).
• Design and implementation of automated tests.
• Defect reporting and follow up with developers.
• Contributing to the overall Quality strategy.
• Evolving our automation strategy around continuous testing, steering testing best practices to support our existing CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigating, evaluating appropriate tools, technologies & techniques for automated testing.
• Reporting the right things in the right way at the right time.
• Acting as a gatekeeper you will work in a way that protects our people, systems and complies with our InfoSec and security policies and procedures.
• Continuously improve how we get things done; recommend and implement better faster more effective ways of supporting our clients and team.
• Effectively execute any special projects or ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

• Coding (Java, Kotlin).
• Experience in testing throughout the SDLC and versed in the principles of BDD/TDD.
• Experience in RESTful API testing (postman, REST assured)
• Understanding of cloud/micro service architecture.
• Familiarity with common test reporting suites (Allure, Testrail).
• Highly proactive and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to take initiative and get things done
• A strong desire to exceed client expectation’s (internal & external) is a must
• An entrepreneurial and adaptable approach is a pre-requisite

Useful Skills

• Object-oriented Programming and Design Concepts.
• Databases & Storage (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Kafka).
• Data Visualization/Alert monitoring tools (Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Cloud deployments (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Containers and Orchestration Platforms (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
