About the Role

Essity North America is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for our corporate office in Charlotte, NC.

What You Will Do

  • Act as Role Model for Safety and Quality;
  • Assure that all customer and internal requirements, industry standards, legal and regulatory requirements met in the manufacturing processes;
  • Utilize problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement;
  • Coordinate and manage actions for customer complaints;
  • Using methodologies as 8D report, CAPA, Ishikawa, 5WHY's, Brainstorming, A3, DOE, SPC, DMAIC, lead cross-function problem solving teams for product issues, defining corrective/preventive actions and proof of effectiveness;
  • Perform complex inspections and set quality standards for both in-process and finished products and materials;
  • Monitor / control internal scrap and rework activities. Provide actions to improve product / process;
  • Coordinate with quality technicians the measurements and validation documentation and ensure proper submission and validation;
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and assess product quality to determine adequacy, capability and ability to comply with company’s specifications;
  • Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product complaints, product audits, field returns and complaints;
  • Perform layered process confirmations on manufacturing processes, to ensure the compliance with internal and external requirements;
  • Monitor costs and KPIs associated to product non-quality, propose and lead improvement plans to achieve Company’s goals. Develop critical analysis and dashboards to present results;
  • Document quality issues and performance measures for management review;
  • Guide manufacturing personnel in the proper application of quality systems and tools. Train and oversee the quality team in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems;
  • Perform activities in coordination with other departments, effectively respond and communicate in a timely manner;
  • Ensure the proper validations for new products, processes and for changes (Product and/or Process);
  • Work with other departments (focus on sales, engineering, service, logistics, production) on the continuous improvement of products, processes / services and support to build a quality excellence culture aiming to delight the customers;
  • Perform internal and supplier audits.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related field strongly preferred;
  • Three (3) or more years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment required;
  • Medical products experience helpful but not required;
  • Spanish fluency helpful but not required;
  • Power BI experience helpful but not required;
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite required.
