Position Overview:
This role will be in-person based out of our Brooklyn Park, MN location.
Responsible for ensuring the company and customer quality needs and requirements are met through pre production activities such as the completion of initial sample inspection reports (ISIR), Wurth Sample Submissions, Customer-Specific PPAPs, and AIAG Level 3 PPAPs. Support the WINA quality team in meeting the goals and objectives of the quality system. Have an innovative approach to his or her work and will never shy away from offering frank observations and recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBITLIES include the following and all other duties assigned:
- Completing the Pre Production inspection and evaluation activities and other specific tasks as directed by manager.
- Review supplier pre production submissions and ensure they meet all customer article requirements
- Prepare all Wurth pre production submission information and ensure it meets all customer article requirements
- Ensure all pre production samples and paperwork are stored properly and easily available when needed.
- Support Post Production team as needed
- Lot Review (for Customer Complaints)
- Provide support as needed to the Quality Planning Specialists in regards to APQP activities to minimize risk and ensure functional specification requirements are fully understood and met during the pre production phase
- Understand the use of all fundamental APQP tools such as the latest version of the AIAG PPAP Manual, the AIAG PFMEA Manual, and the AIAG MSA Manual
- Inspect and Test articles using calibrated equipment including digital caliper, digital micrometer, thread ring and plug gages, optical comparator, gage pins, etc.
- Ensure testing equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained as necessary
- Maintain test equipment calibration records and recall as necessary
- Maintain quality data/generate reports using WS1.
- Perform quality/inspection support as needed at customer/user location
- Maintain conformance to Würth ISO-compliant Business Management System (BMS) and applicable standards
- Communicate with internal personnel, customers and/or suppliers as required to assist in resolving issues in timely manner
- Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization
- Report problems or concerns to senior management immediately
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, materials, manufacturing, engineering technology or related engineering field
- 1-3 years of experience in quality engineering and related disciplines.
- 1-3 years utilizing quality tools such as (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, SPC, GD&T).
- Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection instructions, and customer requirements
- Experience using quality testing equipment preferred
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide accurately and efficiently; statistical knowledge preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including suppliers and customers
- Requires lifting ability of up to 50 pounds.
- Requires a lot of walking on a concrete surface.
- Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus (computer screen).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001and/or related quality systems standards preferred
