Internship- Applications Development Engineer "fault tolerant algorithms"

Quandela is a European start up that provides photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, energy-efficient and accessible both on the cloud and on premise. Our team specialises in the development of both software and hardware solutions for a variety of quantum applications. We offer a wide range of services, from developing the most efficient and brightest single photons sources, to creating algorithms for quantum computers and providing cloud quantum computing solutions.

The applications team is in middle of a triangle defined by : use-cases for industries (customers), state-of-the art of quantum computing algorithms (Theory Team), and integration in a product/ solution (Dev Team with Perceval and the Quantum Toolbox).

The Mission of the Applications Team is developing trust in photonic quantum applications for real-world problems by designing and enhancing cutting edge algorithms.

Fault tolerant algorithms are mainly developed with the aim to run on error-free quantum devices that are not available today. However, it is important to start working in such techniques in order to be ready once the hardware will be available. Working on such algorithms is not a trivial task and proving quantum speedups, even assuming fault tolerance, is hard, especially for real-world problems.

The specific internship will be mainly focused on the development and implementation of a fault tolerant quantum algorithm for solving pathfinding tasks which are directly related to several real-world problems.

You will have the chance to work in one of the most important research areas of quantum computing.

• Master of Science in mathematics, quantum information science, quantum technologies, or physics

• Programming skills in Python

• Experience implementing Quantum Algorithms

• Experience in Quantum Machine Learning

• Trackrecord on github

Prior experience in the field of quantum information would be appreciated

  • Swile card with "ticket restaurants"
  • Positive working atmosphere with other interns and permanent teams
  • A diverse, dynamic, challenging, international team and environment
  • Collaborations with researchers and experts from around the world
