Quandela is a European start up that provides photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, energy-efficient and accessible both on the cloud and on premise. Our team specialises in the development of both software and hardware solutions for a variety of quantum applications. We offer a wide range of services, from developing the most efficient and brightest single photons sources, to creating algorithms for quantum computers and providing cloud quantum computing solutions.
The applications team is in middle of a triangle defined by : use-cases for industries (customers), state-of-the art of quantum computing algorithms (Theory Team), and integration in a product/ solution (Dev Team with Perceval and the Quantum Toolbox).
The Mission of the Applications Team is developing trust in photonic quantum applications for real-world problems by designing and enhancing cutting edge algorithms.
Fault tolerant algorithms are mainly developed with the aim to run on error-free quantum devices that are not available today. However, it is important to start working in such techniques in order to be ready once the hardware will be available. Working on such algorithms is not a trivial task and proving quantum speedups, even assuming fault tolerance, is hard, especially for real-world problems.
The specific internship will be mainly focused on the development and implementation of a fault tolerant quantum algorithm for solving pathfinding tasks which are directly related to several real-world problems.
You will have the chance to work in one of the most important research areas of quantum computing.
• Master of Science in mathematics, quantum information science, quantum technologies, or physics
• Programming skills in Python
• Experience implementing Quantum Algorithms
• Experience in Quantum Machine Learning
• Trackrecord on github
Prior experience in the field of quantum information would be appreciated
Are you ready to dive into the fascinating world of quantum computing? Quandela is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Intern in Applications Development Engineering, specifically focusing on fault tolerant algorithms. As a European startup, we are committed to making photonic quantum computers modular, scalable, energy-efficient, and accessible—whether on the cloud or on-premise. In our applications team, you’ll find yourself at the crossroads of exhilarating industry use-cases, cutting-edge quantum computing algorithms, and product integrations. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to enhance trust in photonic quantum applications by developing and fine-tuning innovative algorithms that tackle real-world challenges. This internship will give you a hands-on opportunity to craft and implement fault tolerant quantum algorithms designed for complex pathfinding problems associated with various industries. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of talented professionals, and while you work on these intricate algorithms, you’ll also be preparing for the future when error-free quantum devices will finally be available. If you have a Master's degree in mathematics, quantum information science, quantum technologies, or physics, along with proficient Python skills and experience in quantum algorithms, we want you on our team! Come join us at Quandela, where creativity meets cutting-edge technology and collaboration drives success!
