Accounts Payable Manager

R2Net is a diamond bridal jewelry company with a technology soul. R2Net Inc. is an innovative technology company that provides e-commerce and supply chain platforms to connect the entire span of the diamond industry’s ecosystem, including manufacturers, retailers and consumers. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Accounting Team as an Accounts Payable Manager.

The Accounts Payable Manager will be an integral member of the growing team at R2Net and will assume full ownership of the accounts payable processes across each of our offices for R2Net and Blue Nile. The Accounts Payable Manager will work closely with members of the team, as well as department managers and numerous outside vendors.  You will develop and implement payment processes that will help ensure the accuracy and completeness of our records and contribute to smooth financial operations. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the company and help maintain strong relationships with outside vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach, and grow the accounts payable team, including assigning work tasks, providing ongoing feedback, and monitoring performance (KPIs).
  • Ensure the timely processing of all invoices across the company and proper approvals have been received.
  • Communicate with vendors and resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation and determining appropriate adjustments.
  • Assist with month-end closing and quarterly reporting process including assisting with accruals.
  • Verifies the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirms that the correct general ledger account codes are used.
  • Manages the company’s purchasing cards, payments, and reconciliation of payments to invoices.
  • Reviews correct coding and authorization, as well as sufficient contracts and documentation, are received before payments are made.
  • Prepare and maintain vendor files (W9s, W-8BENS, banking information) and validate year-end reporting (1099’s).
  • Assist with additional areas of accounting and ad hoc requests.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of accounts payable policies and procedures.
  • Develop and drive the implementation of process improvements and automation to streamline accounts payable workflows including partnering with technology teams, while maintaining a strong SOX environment.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls and own procure to pay audit requests.
  • Manage the weekly payment run process which includes reviewing payment batches for accuracy/adequate support before payments are issued.
  • BA or BS degree (Business Administration or Accounting Preferred)
  • 5 or more years of Accounts Payable experience
  • 2 or more years of related AP Management experience from a high-volume company (preferably online retailer with a mix of Merchandising and Non-Merchandise AP)
  • Public company experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Self-starter, positive attitude, and ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail; accuracy is required.
  • Ability to self-serve and proactively investigate data required.
  • Ability to work in a timely and accurate manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in MS word and excel.

Base pay $95,000 - $115,000. Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications.
