Pay Rate: $28.15 per hour
RADIAS Health is hiring a Mental Health Practitioner-Float to provide mental health services at our three Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) and one Crisis program. These programs provide treatment services to promote recovery and community integration of 12 - 16 adults with serious and persistent mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
The Mental Health Practitioner-Float provides professional, quality program services to the clients served at RADIAS Health IRTS and Crisis facilities and works with other members of the team to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining an optimum quality of life consistent with client needs and preferences. The work uses evidence-based practices adapted for the agency and the client's specific needs. This position functions as an integral part of a treatment team and is responsible for services such as, teaching independent living skills, assisting with treatment planning, crisis intervention and de-escalation, providing education around mental health symptoms, and carrying out the interventions from the treatment plan.
Hours Available:
- Evenings: 40 hour per week, 4 pm - 12 am, greatest need is Tuesday - Saturdays or Wednesday - Sundays. Weekly schedule will vary, and schedules will be created two weeks in advance.
- This role operates fully onsite and will rotate between our three IRTS programs and 1 Crisis program in Minneapolis, Maplewood, and Bloomington locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach and develop independent living skills (relaxation, conversation skills, housekeeping, budgeting, etc.
- Responsible for providing staff coverage and ensuring the security of the facility and general supervision of the residents.
- Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner.
- Co-facilitate or facilitate psychoeducational groups or other programming at the facility.
- Upon successful completion of required medication test, administer medications under the supervision of the facility’s nurse.
- Conduct monthly house meetings for residents in collaboration with Certified Peer Specialist.
- Assist the Mental Health Therapists in developing treatment plans.
- Assist in the orientation of new admissions to residential care.
- Identify individuals prone to having behavior emergencies and assist the therapist in developing additional programming appropriate for their needs.
- Help to defuse and de-escalate any potential behavior emergencies and assists in developing additional programming appropriate for the client’s needs.
- Candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work plus 2,000 hours work experience providing services to adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness

- No college degree and 4,000 hours supervised work experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness.
- Must have car, auto insurance and driver's license.
