Job Overview:
We are seeking a Rail Operations Support Specialist with a background in operations that has experience with shipping, railroad, trucking or transportation in a heavy industrial environment.
How You Will Make An Impact:
- IT Support and Troubleshooting: Assisting end-users with technical issues, providing troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance, and resolving hardware or software-related problems.

User Management: Creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, including granting or revoking access privileges.

Network Administration: Configuring and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

System Administration: Managing servers, operating systems, and software applications, including installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.

Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security measures, such as user authentication, access control, data encryption, antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

Data Backup and Recovery: Planning and executing regular data backups, ensuring data integrity, and implementing disaster recovery strategies to minimize data loss in the event of system failures or disasters.

Hardware and Software Inventory: Keeping track of hardware and software assets, including their deployment, maintenance, and licensing.

Patch Management: Monitoring and applying security patches, software updates, and firmware upgrades to ensure systems are up to date and protected against vulnerabilities.

Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Monitoring system performance, analyzing logs, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation, such as system configurations, user manuals, standard operating procedures, and IT policies.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
- 3-5 years of operations experience in shipping, rail, trucking or transportation.

OS (Operating Systems) knowledge - Basic Linux commands is a plus.

Experience with databases such as SQL or PL/SQL Developer, TOAD, etc.

Experience with tools to monitor either applications or databases.

Ticketing tools knowledge using Help Desk ticket (Jira Service Desk), a plus.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including the ability to follow a detailed operational manual and complete tasks within designated timeframe.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work onsite 8 am to 5 pm PST, 5 days a week.

Compensation:
The estimated pay range for this position is USD $70,720/Yr. - $79,040/Yr. and is an Exempt role.
Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
