Job Description:

Broadcom/Symantec Web Security Service (WSS) is looking for a Software Engineer. WSS is a cloud based network security service that enforces comprehensive internet security and provides data compliance policies. This Engineer will be responsible for deployment automation, monitoring, and building/maintaining internal tools that support WSS.

Software Engineer Job Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains mission-critical synthetic monitoring tools, deployment automation, and reports/analytics
Provides direct and responsive support for urgent analytic needs.
Participates in architecture and software development activities.
Collaborates with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.

Software Engineer Qualifications/Skills:

Analyzing information
General programming skills
Software design
Software debugging
Software testing
Teamwork
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Process-oriented with great documentation skills
Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study and 5+ years of related experience
Familiarity with agile software development in Python, php, and javascript
Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, and Jenkins
Significant experience with Linux systems
Experience with the following network technologies

Routers, VPN’s, Proxies, Load Balancers

Significant experience with a public cloud offering (GCP is preferred)
Experience with Terraform and salt/Ansible
Experience with Mysql management and SQL

Bonus Skills:

Experience with splunk or splunk like tool
Experience with monitoring via SNMP

Additional Job Description:

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $130,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
