Position Overview The Responsible NDT Level III position is critical to ensuring the integrity and efficiency of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes. This role focuses on developing and implementing NDT procedures, training and certifying personnel, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. As a key technical authority, this position has the responsibility and authority to halt the manufacturing process when necessary to maintain quality standards.Key Responsibilities1. Development and Oversight of NDT Processes• Create and verify NDT work instructions to meet customer specifications.• Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and quality requirements.• Maintain NADCAP accreditation and customer approvals.2. Training and Certification• Train, test, and certify NDT personnel in compliance with NAS 410.• Manage the NDT training program, including approval of examiners, instructors, and external agencies.3. Inspection and Quality Control• Analyze inspection data and research product defects to recommend improvements.• Review and refine quality standards and production processes to enhance efficiency.4. Collaboration and Technical Support• Act as a technical liaison for customers and regulatory bodies.• Provide expertise to internal teams such as sales, engineering, and manufacturing on NDT-related issues.5. Program Maintenance• Oversee calibration of NDT equipment, internal audits, vision exams, and X-ray film recovery programs.• Ensure the ongoing integrity of all NDT processes and systems.6. Innovation and Process Improvement• Develop new NDT procedures and incorporate emerging technologies to reduce costs and enhance capabilities.• Facilitate customer approval for new technologies and methodologies.QualificationsEducation:• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Science preferred) with 5–8 years of experience OR• Master’s degree in Engineering with 3–4 years of experience OR equivalent relevant experience.Skills & Expertise:• Strong knowledge of NDT methods, materials, components, and investment casting technologies.• Proficiency with tools and software such as CAD, statistical analysis programs, Excel, SolidView, Unigraphics, or CATIA.• Experience with quality assurance processes and regulatory compliance.Additional Abilities:• Effective decision-making, project planning, and leadership capabilities.• Ability to supervise and guide cross-functional teams.
