While timely diagnosis of infectious diseases is critically important to enable effective treatment, testing is primarily performed in centralized laboratories, which require samples to be shipped for processing, delaying the return of results by days. Point-of-care testing solves this problem by delivering the timely information necessary for clinical care.

Position Summary

  • This position will report to the Reagent Manufacturing Operations Supervisor and will be responsible for reliably executing robust in-house manufacturing for Talis' reagents and reagent-based sub-components, following SOPs, work instructions, and batch records.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Produce reagents and subcomponents in an FDA/ISO regulated environments (per 21 CFR 820 & ISO 13485)
  • Work safely with hazardous chemicals and follow all safety policies fostering a safe work environment
  • Work within defined processes and procedures or methodologies (SOPs, work instructions, batch records), recording required information as specified
  • Exchanges ideas and information effectively; uses tact and diplomacy when dealing with others
  • Execute in-process control tests (example; pH, Moisture, Conductivity and Density testing)
  • Monitor equipment and process health and ensure all equipment is qualified and calibrated
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping
  • Drive towards targeted metrics, reliability, and On-Time Delivery
  • Assists management with audit activities

Education/Skills/Requirements

  • AS/BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or similar (or actively pursuing)
  • 2+ years of experience working in a production environment or FDA-regulated lab/manufacturing floor
  • Must be able to follow cGMP and cGLPs, FDA and ISO standards
  • Must be able to follow direction, able to understand SOPs and demonstrate understanding through speech and/or written form
  • Proficiency in computer systems such as Word, Excel, SAP, MES and e-mail
  • Has a good understanding of how related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve objectives
  • Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions
  • Work may involve lifting/moving objects up to 25 lbs
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals in a hood a plus

Target Salary: $23.50/hr to $30/hr
