Position Summary*:
The Reagent Sales Specialist (RSS) is responsible for the daily selling activities within the MidAtlantic territory. The RSS role is focused on driving reagent growth within Akoya’s instrument install base. This role is responsible for building relationships with clients and managing the customer satisfaction journey from the time of instrument install through training, and technology proficiency. The RSS is responsible for meeting sales target by maximizing reagent usage in each account.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Represent the full range of Akoya solutions with a focus on reagent sales
  • Reach or exceed all quarterly, annual reagent sales goals.
  • Partner with Instrument Sales Specialist and Application Scientist teams to achieve sales goals assigned to the territory
  • Develop, implement, and execute against a strategic business plan with strong emphasis on driving reagent throughput within an account
  • Manage all aspects of the customer on-boarding process, coordinate training, and seeing customer through to technology proficiency
  • Conduct consultative client meetings, and pricing/terms negotiations across all client organization levels
  • Actively communicate to leadership progress updates and forecasts for opportunities within Salesforce CRM
  • Coordinate efforts with the team to execute field and virtual events for lead generation, including technical workshops and lunch-and-learn seminars
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the technical product portfolio, range of scientific applications, and target markets
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and issue resolution, balanced with keen sense of fiscal responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with 3 - 5 years of reagents sales experience
  • Education and/or sales experience in Pathology, Histology, Immunology strongly preferred
  • Must be results-driven and possess exceptional negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within a Team Selling Model and engage field-based resources as necessary to advance opportunities
  • Aptitude to learn new systems and retain technical information
  • General knowledge of CRM systems is preferred. Salesforce.com experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships in-person, video/telephone and through email
  • Ability to work effectively in a small organization, while influencing decisions
  • Highly effective time management and organizational skills
  • Process orientated, with a strong knowledge of selling, marketing & standard customer care process
  • Willingness for 30% overnight travel

The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
