Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Director of Financial Reporting will be responsible for managing all facets of financial reporting. Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining accounting principles and best practices to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position implements best practices and ensures accrual general ledger and accounting methods adhere to US GAAP. This position will review operating procedures, company controls, and compliance measures to determine any potential hazards or breaches of conduct. This role will also provide support to the managers of the accounting team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage the corporate financial reporting process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and quarterly reports to the board and other stakeholders.

• Assist to develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.

• Act as liaison to external auditors in the resolution of technical accounting issues.

• Lead financial reporting projects, such as implementation of changes in accounting pronouncements.

• Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings press releases and earnings call materials.

• Provide assistance to the Director of Finance, Assistant Controller and Accounting Managers on key accounting tasks/deliverables.

• Ensure company's filings with the SEC and stock exchange are filed promptly and accurately.

• Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are properly designed, implemented, and documented.

• Assist in the evaluation of and accounting for complex transactions.

• Partner with Management and Investor Relations group for analysis, planning and reporting needs.

• Review publicly disclosed corporate financial information for accuracy and consistency.

• Report all findings to management with recommendations for improvement, and upon their approval, implement strategies to induce such change.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Knowledge of industry standard accounting principles, best practices, and procedures.

• Possess a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

• Ability to read and interpret accounting rules and guidance as well as perform research and conduct investigations as necessary.

• Excellent written and speaking skills including preparation and presentation of verbal and written reports, presentations, and recommendations.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet individual goals and deadlines.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA and/or Masters preferred, but not required.

• 5-7+ years of relevant accounting/financial analysis with experience working in a startup environment required

• Expert user of the Microsoft suite of products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, MS Dynamics, and Google Suite.
