Real Estate Finance and Data Center Transactional Associate

Sheppard Mullin’s Washington, DC office seeks to hire a partnership track associate with three to six years of commercial real estate legal experience to join their Real Estate Finance and Data Center practice. The candidate will play a significant role working on transactions involving the representation of financial institutions in a variety of commercial real estate finance matters. In addition, the candidate will help lead acquisitions and financings for a major data center developer.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling lender-side real estate financings, including drafting and negotiating transactional documents and opinion letters and attendant due diligence responsibilities such as reviewing title, survey, zoning, organizational documents and other due diligence deliverables as well as coordinating with title companies, surveyors and borrower’s counsel. Experience with real estate purchases, sales, borrower-side financings, and leasing is a plus. The ideal candidate will also have experience with entity formation and CMBS guidelines with respect to single purpose entity requirements. Strong organizational skills, the ability to work with other team members and clients, and "take ownership" of projects, is essential. Top academic credentials, outstanding writing skills and attention to detail are required.

The candidate must be admitted to practice in or eligible to waive-in to the District of Columbia bar.
