Duke Recre ation and PhysicalEducation is seeking individuals to become a part of o urWilson RecreationCenter Guest Services Attendant and Facility Monitor staff starting in theupcoming Fall 2021 semester. We are seeking employe eswho can commit to between12-19.9 hours per week.

Qualified candidates should meet the followingrequirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency </ p>
- Must be able to use a computer
- At lea st 1 full year customer service experienceor working with the public </p >
- Certification in Fir st-Aid, CPR/AED orwillingness to obtain within 60 days
- Must be able to attend and particip ate in offhour training sessions (usually about 2 per semester) </ span>
- Ability to i nteract with diverse groups througha variety of situations
< span>· Ability to use independent judg ment when needed
- S trong problem‐solving skills
- </s pan>Must be able to accommodate a variable workschedule that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work 2 shift s per week.
Job Responsibilities: </p >
Guest ServicesAttendant
- </ span>Serve as the first link to the recreation centers,is responsible for greeting members and guests upon arrival as well asackno wledge their departure.
- Check all members, guests and visitors in and outof the facilitie s.
- Monitor flow o f trafficinto and out of thefacility.
- Ensure Duke ID cards and guest passes arecurrent a nd valid to access the facilities.
- </s pan>Answer any questions or concerns users have. Ifyouare unable to answer question, refer them to the appropriate Recreation& Physical Education staff personnel or department.
- < span> Follow procedures to register guests a ndvisitors.
- Super vise electronic waivers for all guests and visitors.
- Arrangeand maintain the Lost & F oundcabinet in an orderly and organizedmanner at all times.
- Confirm the on-line daily schedule forindoor/outdoor reservations.
- Complete all forms as necessary.
- Check out loan equipment and ensure equipment isreturned and does not leave the facility.
- Promote a safe and clean facility t hat iswelcoming to all.
- < /span>Perform other duties as assigned.

Facility Monitor
- Fill in for the front desk and weight room staffwhe n needed.
- Consiste ntly move around the facility to checkall doors, alarms, locker rooms, a nd bathrooms.
- Addr ess the cleanliness of the cardio areas andmachines.
- Check the basketball courts tomake su re allmembers are wearing the proper wrist band.
- Track and enforce day locker policies (in cludinglocker rooms).
- </s pan>Enforce all facility policies and procedures.
- Assist the front desk staff during busy check-intimes.
- Fo llow all opening and closing procedures.
- Carry out security measures.
- Respond to all building emergencies(A ccidents/Injuries, Inclement Weather, etc.)
- Execute the set‐up of activity areas for varie tyof internal & external groups when needed.
- Provide support for special events, as ne eded.
- Ensure outst anding customer service.
- Work cooperatively with other area of thedepartmenttoachieve esta blished goals.
- Pro mote a safe, clean, functional facility thatis welcoming to all.

Work requires the ability to provide recreational assistance generally equivalent to a partial high school education.
