Regional Human Resources Director

Summary:
The Regional Human Resources Director (RHRD) is responsible for leading the Human Resources function at a regional level with responsibility for multiple sites across a geographic region. The RHRD partners with the Regional Vice President(s) and General Managers to develop and implement people strategies, plans and programs to drive performance, fostering positive employee relations and talent management within his/her region. Provides direct leadership to site HR Managers. The RHRD will serve as the primary liaison with the business units while partnering closely with other Human Resources functional teams (Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Development) to collaboratively deliver holistic people solutions to the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides strategic HR leadership, planning and execution of people solutions for current and future business needs.
  • Builds strong partnerships with Regional Vice President and field leadership team; coaches field leadership in delivery of people initiatives.
  • Leads the talent management and development strategies within the region in alignment with the company strategies and business objectives, which encompasses:
o implementing and driving the execution of talent programs and processes within the region to strengthen the company’s talent portfolio, develop the next generation of leaders and maximize the return on human capital
o leading regional talent review, performance evaluation processes, workforce planning and succession planning initiatives; calibrates and level-sets across region to ensure accuracy of ratings and assessments of field leadership.
o partnering with Site HR Managers and General Managers to assess internal management potential of field leadership; identifies development needs, and implements appropriate development plans for high potentials; tracks and follows-up on progress and effectiveness of development plans to measure succession readiness within the region.
o providing consultation and training to leadership on processes and tools to select and assess talent, identify skill gaps and implement effective development plans.
  • Provides strategic direction for employee relations initiatives to ensure an engaged workforce and a respectful workplace environment.
  • Builds necessary skills and competencies in the workforce by facilitating leader and employee development programs and training; consults on change management to ensure people readiness for organizational change or project implementations.
  • Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics; recognizes and rewards employee contributions and achievements.
  • Manages HR metrics and communicates findings to management team.
  • Understand, interpret and ensure compliance with all Local, State and Federal employment regulations; oversees the EEO and affirmative action plans for the region.
  • Lead the site HR business partners in partnering with site GM and site senior staff to drive employee engagement initiatives at the various sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Other information:
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field required.
  • Minimum of ten years of senior level generalist Human Resources experience encompassing demonstrated experience in various HR disciplines such as employee relations, performance management, staffing, compensation, benefits, EEO/AAP, etc.
  • Minimum five years Leadership/Management experience with a strong emphasis on coaching and development.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strong, collaborative business relationships with executive management teams, client groups and direct reports.
  • Hands-on consultative leader and influencer with a strong background dealing with complex Human Resources issues in a geographically diverse and changing environment.
  • In-depth experience consulting with business partners on Talent Management, Change Management, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Performance Management, and Talent Acquisition.
  • Must have experience working in a multi-site, multi-state environment.
  • PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Predictive Index Licensed Analyst preferred.

Skills
  • Facilitates regular, meaningful two-way communication between the sites and Global Headquarters on all people related issues.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, corporate policies and procedures and employee relations; ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Identify trends and track key metrics to determine overall effectiveness of talent management initiatives and support of business goals and adjust talent strategies accordingly.
  • Work effectively in an environment that endorses integrity, collaboration, creativity, empowerment, results and service.
  • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism.
  • Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools.
  • Anticipate, analyze, and prioritize complex problems including:
o Present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, both verbally and in written format
o Strong listening and conflict resolution skills
o Strong presentation and training facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Abilities:
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds or less 5% of the workday
  • Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday
  • Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Will require 25-50% overnight travel.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field required.

Work Schedule: M-F 0800-1630

Full Time

Compensation Range: $136,058.00 to $204,087.00 USD
