This candidate will need to based out of Charlotte, NC or the surrounding area.

The Area Manager is the regional senior leader, supporting the operations of multiple practices throughout a region (potentially multi-state). The incumbent plans, directs, coordinates and supervises all program activities in the region to ensure that company and client goals are met. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribute to company-wide program development, quality improvement, problem solving, productivity enhancement and profitability in a cross departmental and interdisciplinary environment.

Essential Duties

1. Responsible for the operational (financial) and clinical success for each designated practice.
2. Key functions include mentoring, problem-solving, brainstorming, and enabling the Senior PD / PD to achieve optimal clinical operational success.
3. Maintains consistent communication with and reports to RDO/VP of Operations.
4. Visits all assigned facilities at least once in 6 weeks, with availability to Senior PDs / PDs via phone and AM/RDO on an ongoing basis.
5. Meets with Administrator (ED), DON (DHS), and other key facility leadership during visits, in conjunction with the Senior PD / PD, and is available via phone on an ongoing basis.
6. During facility visits, focuses on assuring all patient needs are being met, treatment is well-documented, and the practice operates efficiently.
7. Contacts all Administrators at least monthly re. rehab practice performance and customer satisfaction.
8. Functions as a resource for program / caseload / business development.
9. Assures effective and efficient coordination of staff among facilities where possible.
10. Helps identify growth opportunities in area in conjunction with Director of Sales.
11. Participates in meetings with potential customers.
12. Facilitates startup of new contracts.
13. Interviews, hires and orients new Senior PDs / PDs.
14. Facilitates monthly clinical operations reviews of all designated facilities.
15. Completes annual performance review of Senior PDs / PDs.
16. Participates in all senior management functions to assure company business success.
17. Works with VP of Operations to develop regional operating and capital budget.
18. Ensure for regional staffing, PD supervision and development.
19. Participate in continuing education/professional development activities.
20. Communicate and demonstrate a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, coworkers and others.
21. Promote adherence to policies and practices of applicable professional organizations, client and Tristar LLC.
22. Maintain memberships in applicable professional organizations.
23. Monitor regional financial and clinical performance.
24. Develop performance improvement/correction plans as needed.
25. Develop and maintain positive relationship with client administration.
26. Represent company to professional and other audiences in assigned region.
27. Coordinate with QA on denial/ADR process.
28. Meets with DVP and MDS support on a quarterly basis to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
29. Facilitates delivery of in-services or other educational and developmental programs.
30. Completes semi-annual Survey Excellence Audits in preparation for state survey readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a rehab discipline (OT, PT or Speech) from a four-year college or university, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must possess and maintain current state or national certification and/or licensure in accordance with the state-specific practice.

Experience

  • Three (3) years program management experience
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a healthcare, senior living industry or long-term care environment strongly preferred.
  • Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products.
