Job Overview:
Based in the Company’s Cranford New Jersey office, the HR Generalist will be responsible for providing support and oversight of Human Resources activities for the Company’s centralized call center, consisting of approximately 200 team members located in New Jersey and the Midwest region. Reporting to the Vice President, International Service Center (ISC), the HR Generalist is a trusted business partner, providing strong HR guidance and support to help the team achieve its goals.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the performance management process by assisting managers with coaching, corrective actions, improvement plans and performance assessments.
- Attends and participates in disciplinary meetings and terminations, and partners with Head of People and Legal to conduct workplace investigations.
- Identifies trends and provides guidance to management at all levels to mitigate employee relations issues and promote a positive work culture. Assists the leadership team in managing programs that improve employee engagement and drive positive employee experiences including employee celebrations and events, recognition, and volunteer initiatives.
- Coordinates hiring and termination processes while ensuring all personnel records and systems are accurate and up to date. Creates termination packages, conducts exit interviews and completes assigned terminations, ensuring all termination paperwork is complete.
- Partners with HR resources in the Company’s New Jersey and Midwest businesses to administer employee benefits (e.g., retirement, health & welfare, etc.). Effectively communicates benefits to ensure that team members are educated and informed on the various benefits offered.
- Manages and provides guidance for all team members in the areas of: leave of absence administration (including FMLA, disability, and statutory leave programs), Worker’s Compensation, and Unemployment to ensure compliance and support team member needs.
- Partners with the VP, ISC and Head of People to interpret and communicate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local employment-related laws and regulations.
- Partners with department leaders and the Talent Acquisition team to provide a world-class onboarding experience. Ensures a successful handoff from Talent Acquisition upon offer acceptance to first day and beyond.
- Assesses development needs and coordinates/conducts applicable training and development programs as necessary.
- Serves as a resource for all team members by being available and accessible to answer questions and address issues and concerns.
- Maintains thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources, employee regulations and Federal, State and local employment laws.
- Assists with special projects and performs all other duties as assigned.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should meet the following minimum requirements:
Education & Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with an emphasis in generalist HR.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related discipline.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal communication, persuasion and creative problem-solving skills.
- Established assessment, conflict resolution and decision-making skills with a proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills; ability to set priorities and organize time effectively. Demonstrates initiative and can work independently.
- Enthusiastic, energetic and personable; capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment with high standards.
- Ability to act with empathy, compassion, objectivity, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Limited travel to the Midwest office required.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 + bonus
