Overview:
Computerworld, an IDG publication, seeks an experienced Contract Reporter (three years' minimum) with a solid grasp of enterprise technology (in particular Microsoft and the Windows ecosystem) to join our award-winning team. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing relationships with IT pros and analysts, reporting and writing news and news analysis stories, and identifying trends for more in-depth coverage. Our goal is for Computerworld writers to bring an authoritative voice and deep understanding of the issues we cover to provide IT users relevant information they need to succeed. The position reports to the Executive Editor.

This is a full time, contract position estimated to last between 6-8 months. Join us at one of our US locations (Needham, MA; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA) or work remotely from almost anywhere!
Responsibilities:
- Writing a mix of news and news analysis stories, profiles, case studies, and short features based on interviews with IT decision makers from the C-suite to the front line of business.

Collaborating with other staff writers and editors to ensure we're meeting the information needs of our audience

Cultivating a network of CIO sources for stories going forward

Participating in virtual and in-person events and when possible, videos.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who wants to build a career covering, thinking about, and writing about technology. Must be comfortable juggling multiple assignments and be able to deliver timely, creative, and compelling copy and headlines. Other key skills include an understanding of SEO and how to optimize content for digital traffic, the ability to develop and maintain industry sources, excellent reporting and rapid writing skills.
