Definition of Class

This position assists research personnel in conducting research investigations, performing experiments, and in recording, collecting, verifying, and compiling research information. The incumbent works under the guidance and direction of research personnel, with written instructions and/or verbally stated procedures provided.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Performs a variety of duties to assist research personnel in conducting research investigations, performing experiments.
  • Provides assistance in recording, collecting, verifying, and compiling research information.
  • Mails surveys and records all returned surveys.
  • Creates files and ensures files are backed up to preserve data.
  • Maintains records of questionnaires and other documentation as required.
  • Receives and routes incoming telephone calls and email inquiries.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  • Provides assistance to personnel conducting research.
  • Assists in the collection, compilation, verification, and maintenance of data and records.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED).
