Our lab is interested in metabolic pathways that promote survival and tissue protection during states of inflammation. We are looking for an enthusiastic and scientifically curious research technician to maintain the lab’s mouse colony and to assist in mouse experiments. The ideal candidate is an organized professional who will support the laboratory by setting up mouse breeding, genotyping mouse lines, maintaining organized records of the mouse colony, assisting in ongoing animal studies, and performing basic molecular biology techniques.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in field of assignment and no experience required. Two (2) years college with emphasis in coursework in field of assignment and two (2) years of laboratory experience at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent.
High school graduation or GED and four (4) years laboratory experience to include two (2) years at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent.
Job Duties
-Set-up mouse breeding programs, mouse genotyping, and maintenance of mouse colony.
-Constructs, assembles, and operates laboratory equipment and apparatus.
-Responsible for general maintenance of the lab.
-Performs routine scientific and medical research work in science area such as biology, chemistry, physiology, or other related scientific field.
-Records research data in accordance with prescribed procedures, discussing results with supervisor.
-Assists in collection of data for project reports.
-Reads literature and confers with supervisor concerning implementation of new procedures
-May plan for, and provide working supervision to, work of laboratory personnel of lower grade.

Pay: $33,200.00 - $49,800.00 per year
