POSITION TITLE: Research Assistant I

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nhu laboratory at TSRI currently focuses on developing novel, clinically relevant therapeutic agents for Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) and beyond.

RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:

• Cell isolation, cell culture and treatments of cells with cytokines and/or test drug compounds.
• Basic cell and molecular biology skills: RNA extraction, RT-PCR, RT-qPCR, Western immunoblots, ELISA.
• Basic cell isolation from tissues, cell culture, basic experiments to test drug compounds in cell cultures.
• Assess cellular responses using basic molecular biology techniques (RNA, RT-PCR, realtime qPCR, Western immunoblotting, ELISA).
• Work under PI's directions. Seeking motivated individuals with some experience and willingness to troubleshoot. Friendly environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained.
• Requires 1-3 years experience. Candidates possessing a Master’s degree, 0-2 years experience required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a part time position 19 hours a week. This position is not eligible for benefits.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment.

COMPENSATION: The expected hiring range for this position is $20.07 to $25.06 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
