Position Summary:

To meet the expanding needs of our pipeline, Seagen is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and flexible Research Associate. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to explore our antibody-based and small molecule therapeutics using rodent xenograft and syngeneic tumor models. We are seeking a candidate that will thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and has a history of technical excellence and innovation.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Tackling program-critical questions by planning, coordinating, and executing rodent studies to test experimental drugs for efficacy, mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, safety, and tolerability
  • Work independently and in collaboration with in vivo biology team members to ensure timely completion of studies
  • Contribute in vivo subject matter expertise in multi-disciplinary project team settings
  • Maintain rigorous records of experimental progress using electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Independently summarize experimental results and present findings to laboratory group, department, and in cross-functional meetings
  • Contribute to technical reports, manuscripts, or posters with guidance

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Immunology, Cellular or Molecular Biology, Biology, Bioengineering, or related field with 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience working with rodents
  • Expertise in rodent procedures including drug delivery (IV, IP, PO) and biological sample collection, handling, and processing
  • Basic understanding of cell culture and aseptic technique
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and analytical software programs (e.g., Prism)
  • Ability to execute moderately complex experiments that require significant insight into problems being addressed
  • Able to conduct analyses, interpret data, and make conclusions with supervision
  • Detail-orientated person with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and a variety of disciplines to provide experimental expertise and support others on joint projects
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in rodent procedures including tumor implantation, tumor growth monitoring, and minor surgery
  • Interest and/or experience in running in vivo models using novel techniques (surgical intervention, imaging technologies, alternate drug delivery techniques)
  • Background in oncology is preferred
  • ALAT, LAT or LATg certification

The hiring pay range for this position is $72,000 to $94,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
