Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. with three years of applied research experience in a related field. A Master's degree and five years of applied research experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
Position Description:
A Research Associate position is available in the Center for Cardiometabolic Science at the University of Louisville. Applicants should have at least a MS in biology, biochemistry, physiology, or related field, with proven aptitude in biomedical research. Research will focus on understanding how changes in metabolism influence cardiac remodeling or contribute to overall cardiovascular health. Experience that includes one or more of the following is highly desired: enzymology, gel-based techniques, size exclusion chromatography, radiolabeled tracer analyses, fluorescence microscopy, PCR, western blotting, cell culture, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
Assist in ongoing studies in the laboratory

Help maintain study animals

Perform gel-based separation of proteins

Perform basic biochemical assays and data analyses

Regularly present and communicate findings
Preferred Qualifications:-
A PhD in a related field of science and 3-5 years of related experience in at least one or more of the following: animal handling, echocardiography, surgical expertise, size exclusion chromatography, blue native PAGE, fluorescence microscopy, protein biochemistry and enzymology.

Proficient in MS outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint with effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Target Compensation Maximum:
$72,826.00
Target Compensation Minimum:
$47,476.00
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
